{"id":1721,"date":"2024-07-15T09:45:25","date_gmt":"2024-07-15T09:45:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/britainwriters.com\/answers\/?p=1721"},"modified":"2024-07-15T09:45:28","modified_gmt":"2024-07-15T09:45:28","slug":"mental-health-and-wellbeing-assignment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/britainwriters.com\/answers\/mental-health-and-wellbeing-assignment\/","title":{"rendered":"Mental Health and Wellbeing Assignment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Assignment Task:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this task, you will critically analyze workplace violence and aggression in healthcare and reflect upon the impacts of workplace violence and aggression on mental health and well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Part 1:<\/strong>&nbsp;This part of the assessment task requires you to present a critical analysis about workplace violence and aggression in healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The discussion needs to include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Individual patient factors that increase the risk of violence and aggression.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Workplace factors that increase the risk of violence and aggression.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Part 2:<\/strong>&nbsp;This part of the assessment task requires you to present a critical analysis of the impacts of workplace violence and aggression on nurses&#8217;\/midwives&#8217; mental health and well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number of impacts is not stipulated. It will be up to you to decide how many impacts to discuss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: Part 1 and 2 are not a reflection and must be written in the third person perspective. It would be best if you also supported this section with academic literature such as peer-reviewed journal articles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Part 3<\/strong>&nbsp;This part of the assessment task requires you to reflect upon what you have learnt in Part 1 and 2 and link this to clinical practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You must reflect upon an instance of workplace violence and aggression that you have witnessed\/experienced as a student nurse\/midwife. This may be verbal or physical violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reflection needs to include the impact this event had on you as an individual.<br>If you have not experienced or witnessed an event, you can reflect upon how you think workplace violence and aggression may impact you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please only reflect upon an event you feel comfortable with; and not an event that may cause distress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You may use the following questions to assist you with this element of your reflection. These questions are intended to be used as a guide only and you are not required to reflect upon each question.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What were the individual or workplace factors that contributed to this event?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Could some of these factors have been prevented?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How was the event managed? What was done well? What could have been improved?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What was the outcome of this event once it was resolved? You may wish to think about events that happened following the violent\/aggressive event; the outcome for the patient; the outcome for the staff; or the outcome for the workplace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The following questions may assist you with reflecting upon the impacts the event had on you. These questions are intended to be used as a guide only and you are not required to reflect upon each question.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What was your role in the event?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How did this event impact you? Were there ongoing impacts?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How did you manage the impact the event had on you? What was effective? What would you do differently next time? What support\/assistance in the workplace\/university did you use?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How did this event impact your nursing\/midwifery practice going forward?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Please note<\/strong>&nbsp;that answering all of these questions will not enable you to reflect in depth, so you are encouraged to select only a few.<br>Important note: Since this section is a reflection, you must write in the first person. You need to include references in this section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>References<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You need to include academic literature to support your discussion. References need to be no older than ten years unless they are seminal work. Government websites are appropriate in addition to resources listed in your reading list. However, references to .com websites and\/or Wikipedia are inappropriate for this assessment task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How the work will be assessed and expected standard:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This work will be assessed against the rubric criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nursing is a highly rewarding profession and there are multiple workplace factors that have a positive impact on registered nurses&#8217; mental health and wellbeing. However, there are also workplace factors that can have a negative impact on nurses&#8217; mental health and wellbeing. As per the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia&#8217;s Code of Conduct (2018), registered nurses are obligated to promote their own and their colleagues&#8217; health and wellbeing to ensure safe and quality&nbsp;care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to developing self-awareness regarding your own mental health and wellbeing, and the workplace factors that can impact this, it is important that you understand contemporary factors that impact mental health and wellbeing amongst populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This assessment task provides you with an opportunity to examine and reflect upon workplace violence and aggression in healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ULOS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Undertaking this assessment task will develop, evidence, and assess your development of the following ULO:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1.
