Conduct a search of the current literature related to one of the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Self-management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Person-centred care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Case management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chronic pain<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spirituality\/Spiritual care<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Demonstrate your understanding of the topic in the context of long-term care and the role of the Registered Nurse within this, by examining the literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Formulate a written assignment utilising valid current literature<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Must achieve standard for Structure and Organisation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Must achieve Academic Standard<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to structure your assignment:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Select a topic from the list provided and conduct a literature search for current (within the last 10 years) literature related to the topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. There should be a minimum of 10 references and include research article(s) to support your discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Part A: Read the literature and:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Discuss what is generally known about the topic and how it relates to the long-term condition\/ care context<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Examine why this is an important topic in the current healthcare environment i.e. incidence of LTCs &amp; pressures on healthcare; current models of healthcare.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate understanding of how the topic impacts people with a LTC i.e. the lived experience of the person\/ patient &#8211; include patient examples and patient quotes (from the literature)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Part B: Read the literature and:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a. Examine how the role of the Registered Nurse applies to the topic. This should include discussion on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>what roles\/ positions RNs are working in (in regards your topic) i.e. case manager\/ specialist nurse\/navigator\/generalist role applicable to your topic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what does the RN &#8216;do&#8217; in regards your chosen topic (Note remember most of the time RNs are working with people with LTCs in a community setting)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what works well and what needs to develop to ensure excellent nursing care of people with LTCs (applicable to your topic)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please use some of the journal articles\/resources throughout the LTCD course on Northnet to help you with this assignment.
