Assignment Task

This assessment provides the opportunity to develop evidence that demonstrates these Standards:

1. Engage parents/carers in the educative process

3. Manage classroom activities

4. Engage with parents/carers

Choose a 12-month age range within either early childhood (0-8 years) or primary (5-11 years). Design a supportive, inclusive and welcoming environment for learning that enables children to participate actively and optimises learning and wellbeing.

1. Presentation:

Create a plan/sketch/drawing/ CAD (Computer Aided Design) e.g. Classroom Architect/ animation/ model of a welcoming learning setting for children in your chosen age range.

You are encouraged to be innovative. Think beyond a traditional classroom! Include indoor and outdoor spaces.

Your presentation must be able to be submitted via the Blackboard portal.

2. Rationale:

Provide a written rationale for your design.

Be sure to discuss how the design will be welcoming for children and adults, honour diversity, engage families, meeting of ethical and professional requirements and support your personal approach for guiding behaviour.

3. Prepare a document for communicating this to parents/carers.
