Assessed Components
This module has two assessment components.
Part One: Conference Poster
Design and produce a conference poster which outlines the service improvement plan (SIP) and its activities to achieve its aim.
You should include:
A Title
- this should clearly indicate the focus of the SIP while also drawing interest
The Problem
- a clear statement regarding the issue(s) to be improved (references to literature to substantiate)
The Aim
- the overall aim of the SIP-statement(s) that concisely specify your desired achievements – statements that describe the new situation/practice/experience
The Rationale
- considering the current situation and the evidence base (references to literature to substantiate) – the reasons for the improvement
The Vison
- the progress and vision you envisage to reach the aim
Part Two: Paper
you will explore the concepts from your poster in further detail with further critical engagement and discussion of the literature
- problem, aim, rationale, vison
you will discuss the activities you will carry out to deliver your SIP
- plan, do, study, act
- you will be explicit about the evidence base and show critical thinking
- you will underpin your discussions with critical
engagement and application of change management and quality management theories and practice
you will discuss your leadership of the SIP
- what you will do; why you will do it; how you will approach it
- you will underpin this with critical engagement and application of leadership and change management theories and practice
you will discuss how you will evaluate your SIP
- you will consider quality standards and audit
- you will consider further PDSA cycles
you will conclude with a summary of your learning for practice regarding service improvement, change management, quality management and leadership
- you will present a personal development plan with two SMART goals
- these should consider your leadership knowledge and
skills
