Question 1

i. Based on the course content and your own readings, define and explain the characteristics of teacher competency.

ii. Create and develop a teacher competency framework that you think would be suitable for the curriculum in your subject area and for your organisation.

iii. For each dimension or domain identified in your teacher competency framework, develop a professional development programme or activity.

With close reference to the theories and literature studied in relation to “school’s goals and aims” and to your own context:

i. Define and identify the goals and aims of your organization;

ii. Write out two aims and related goals, objectives and strategies for your organization/department; and

iii. Identify two challenges that you may face in implementing the strategies for the goals identified and propose actions you would undertake to address these.

With close reference to your reading of the course contents and other relevant literature:

i. Identify the features and characteristics of online professional development;

ii. Develop a professional development activity programme or initiative based on online professional development for your department/organization.

iii. Identify two challenges that you may face in organising the above and propose actions that you would undertake to address these.
