Purpose
To determine students understanding of transforming health through advanced nursing practice using the International Council of Nurses (ICN) 4 strategic priority areas.
Description
This assessment task requires you to choose one (1) of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) 4 strategic priority areas for nursing globally; then explore how the chosen strategic priority area relates to the role of nursing leaders in promoting these priorities locally, nationally and internationally.
1. Define and discuss the one (1) chosen ICN strategic priority area including its global relevance to world health.

2. Describe how this priority relates to your current practice and its relevance to the health outcomes of the people you care for.
3. Discuss how clinical governance, risk management, and a focus on quality and safety principles can be used to implement change related to this priority area in your local setting.
4. Explore the role you and other nurse leaders can play in promoting this priority area locally, nationally, and internationally in the future.
