Decide on the key tasks involved in the project. Provide a quick summary of each task below:

Decide on an approximate timeline for each of the tasks (try to keep to the same units e.g. hours / days / weeks) E.g. Task A 30 – 40 days

Draw a network diagram of the project.

If you are aiming in the A band – would suggest having a dummy link included in the network.
You may need to tweak the key tasks / pre-requisites to get a nice network diagram that would be good to work with for the rest of the investigation.

Start writing up this section of the investigation in as much detail as possible – investigations are all about communicating your understanding of the maths involved. The more you can showcase your knowledge and understanding the better.

I would suggest using the following headings as a guide (change the wording as you please):

• Title
• Introduction
• Key Tasks
• Estimated Time Frame
• Pre-requisite Tasks
• Network Diagram

Make sure all tables / diagrams are introduced and labelled so the reader knows exactly what they are looking at.

Include any assumptions / limitations throughout each section

• Assumptions – what has been assumed
• Limitations – what has limited the findings

Avoid using textboxes as this makes formatting a nightmare later-on
