Reading Task – Double Entry Notes
Task: Select a Novel to connect one of the literary lenses being covered in class and/or to connect to a relevant world issue.
Topics could include Post-colonial, psychoanalytic, ecocritical, feminist, critical race, Marxist, or gender/sexuality.
(if you have a different lens or direction in mind, run it by me to get approved. If you do so without getting your idea approved, your assignment will be marked as if you did not follow the instructions)
- Complete a Double Entry Notes- this should fill at least 5 pages filled out
- Use page references for the novel
Writing Task Formal Essay Outline
You will complete an Essay Outline.
- Should include a full introductory paragraph + thesis statement
- Fill all Three (3) body paragraphs (point + evidence + analysis x3) in outline format+ one (1) of your body paragraphs should be written in complete paragraph format
Task: Create a Media Slideshow presenting your lens and novel by creating a Google Slide show of six (6) slides
- One (1) title slide (your name, a title for the content)
- One (1) slide introducing your novel (main conflict, main characters, other need to know about your text)
- One (1) slide Introducing your chosen lens and explaining why you chose said lense
- One (1) slide connecting your lense and novel by using 1 point from 1 of your arguments in your outline
- One (1) slide for your works cited
- Post your slideshow to D2L/Google Classroom
Oral Communication Task
Task: Preview a peer’s slideshow in the summative discussion board in D2L and respond appropriately to connect with and extend their thinking as your oral component.
