A culturally safe, trauma-informed model of care is essential to custodial healthcare. The first step in developing such a model. requires reflection of self, as an individual and a healthcare professional.  

Using an established reflective model (Examples below in graphic – Gibbs Reflective Cycle, Kolb’s Learning Cycle, Johns Model of Reflection, Driscoll Reflective Model), reflect on your understanding of cultural safety and trauma-informed care and how this informs the development of your model of care and your professional identity as a custodial healthcare professional.
