Assessment Title: The Importance of Children’s Rights and Equality and Diversity in ELC Practice.

Scope of Work: Written narrative describing the importance of equality and diversity in ELC practice to include an interpretation on the rights of the child in the ELC context and maintaining quality standards in the inclusive provision of ELC which is compliant with regulations and quality standards. Examples of implementation in practice to be provided.

Assessment Criteria/Format: Síolta Standard 14: Identity and Belonging states that “The image of oneself as a
a distinct person is crucial in order to establish a sense of identity” (DES, 2017). Using the above quote as inspiration, this assignment should illustrate your understanding of the importance of equality and diversity in ELC practice to include the following:

Introduction:

● Provide examples of how practices and activities to eliminate bias and promote equality and value diversity can be implemented in an ELC setting.
