Guidelines

Identify and profile a distinct client group (high dependency) with a range of healthcare needs (people with stroke, cancer etc) and demonstrate how these people with high dependency needs can be cared for by you the carer.

• Introduction
  Give an introduction by saying what you are going to do in this assignment.
• Needs of a specific client group
  Select a specific client group which you will care for. Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of the specific client group including physical, emotional, social, psychological and spiritual. Include pressure sore prevention.
• Safety and security
  Discuss the procedures relation to safety and security when meeting the clients’ needs, identify care equipment and other aids.
• Safe and Hygienic work practices
  Infection prevention and control e.g. safe disposal of linen
• Identify relevant records and reports that must be maintained
  Reporting procedures for changes in client’s condition and appropriate records which must be kept
• Factors that will enhance the quality of life for the client
  Ways to develop personal needs, organisations available to support the person and their family
• Comprehensive evaluation, conclusions and recommendations
  Draw conclusions and make recommendations for future development.
