Care Support, Assignment

You are required to complete a practical activity with a person to enhance their awareness of care support in the care setting.  You should identify a person  you are or have worked with.  Considering the person’s interests, plan a suitable activity that will enhance their experience of care support.

Organise your project as follows:

Assignment – Part 1

Planning (LO 3, LO 4)

• Observe the chosen person and determine appropriate activity suitable to their needs (2 marks)
• Explain the reasons for your choice of activity (2 marks)
• Show knowledge of materials / resources that may be needed to carry out activity (2 marks)
• Develop implementation plan (2 marks)
• Show an awareness of health and safety and best practices throughout the planning and carrying out of the activity (2 marks)

Assignment – Part 2

Consultation & Communication (LO 2)

• Consultation with the supervisor and person should be evidenced.
• Discuss the the importance of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrate effective communication throughout activity – verbal & non-verbal
• Show an ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors or any relevant personnel

Assignment – Part 3

Person Centred Care (LO 4)

• Demonstrate best practices that will enhance the person’s independence and dignity,
• Briefly describe how the activity was carried out
• Evaluate the impact that the activity had on the person
• Promote good practice and respect for diversity in the care setting
