Course Description

This course covers the dynamics of different models and emphasizes on the tools and methods needed to apply systems thinking and simulation in complex real-world settings. The course uses systems dynamics and simulation models to depict solutions for real world problem in business and environment.

Course Objectives

The objectives of the course are to,

Introduce students to the methods of formulating qualitative and quantitative models using the available data

Teach students the different models that are using in solving problems

Teach students how they can use mathematics models to formulate and solve problem

Expected Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course students should be able to,

Define Simulation, Systems Dynamic and a model and how they relate

Explain the different types of models used in solving world problems

Identify and formulate a problem, and device a mathematical solution or simulation model out of it.
