Scenario:
All McDonalds restaurants in Oman are 100% locally owned and operated. Al Daud Restaurants LLC., the owner and operator of McDonalds restaurants in Oman started serving Oman some of its favorite food since March 30, 1994. They strive to serve safe, high quality products to all customers across restaurants in Oman. Given below is the practise followed by McDonalds Chain in recruiting and selecting their work force:
McDonalds Recruitment:
In McDonald`s recruitment plan, each restaurant has responsibility to fill the vacancy. Vacancies are normally advertised in the restaurant. They use local job centres, career fair, employee referrals and other local facilities to advertise the vacancies.
A recruitment exercise often generates more applications than there are positions available. McDonald`s directs applicants to applying online at their website. People who cannot access the web can call the recruitment line, or pick up a pre-paid Business Reply Card from a McDonald`s restaurant.
McDonalds selection:
McDonald selection is a bit different where the manager will shortlist the applicants to be interviewed and will conduct the interviews. Their selection process starts with an online test. The applicants selected then attend a first stage interview and is presented "On Job Experience" (OJE).
This is a two days assessment in a restaurant, then a successful applicant goes to a final interview, after which the manager decides whether or not to employ the applicants
