Reflective Analysis / Interview Paper 25% of final grade (125 pts) This assignment is intended for you to apply your new understanding of the developmental concepts you learned in the course. You will have two choices for the focus of this project: The first involves an extensive interview (perhaps several sessions over the course of the semester) with an older member of your family (at least 70 years of age) with regard to the individual’s biopsychosocial development. You will be provided questions to address in the interview, but you are encouraged to individualize your interview with your own questions as well. The second option involves writing a thoughtful, self-reflective paper in which you apply the developmental concepts learned in this course to your own life. In either paper option, you are asked to include relevant information about major aspects of development (e.g. brain and physical health, sensation/perception, memory, cognition, language, self, emotions/attachment, family, genetic and social influences) and to describe how your interviewee (or you yourself) illustrated at least 2 of these concepts at each major stage of the lifespan (infant/toddler, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, later years). This paper should be between 4 and 6 pages long and references to the text or other readings should be made in APA format. See sample interview questions and rubric: Sample Questions: Infancy/Toddler: Please share some early memories and/or what you know about your earliest years? What was your family system like when you were born (parents? siblings? all in one home? other caregivers?)? Did you go to preschool? Who do you remember playing with?
