Regeneration and Urban Heritage Discussion
1) The Essay is an individually written piece of scholarly writing that is a development of any of the content delivered in the lecture series.
It can build upon, in new ways, the research you produced in your essay film.
It can expand the research expertise of your seminar leader through the theme they present in one of their lectures or build upon another lecture not by a seminar leader.
The topic of your essay and the argument contained in your essay must be agreed with your seminar leader.
A strong essay is one that is original in its subject matter, well-structured, well-written and comprehensible – making a clear, substantiated argument.
It must be based on extensive independent textual and visual research and be correctly referenced using the Harvard Style.
It should be a pleasure to read and be visually elegant.
In terms of the graphic formatting of your essay submission, it must be word-processed in a clear and appropriate format.
It must be thoroughly proof read and all English spelling and grammatical errors must be corrected prior to submission.
It must be formatted to the size 210mm x 210mm. Take time to graphically design your essay in InDesign, paying aesthetic attention to layout, typeface, illustration pattern etc. Ensure that you do not lose italics of book, journal and film titles in the final version.
