Research shows that in New Zealand, 80% of women are employed in occupations that are primarily female dominated and relatively low paid contributing to the increased gender pay gap.

Gender pay gap occurs when men and women do the same job requiring the same or similar skills but are paid differently, usually, women workers are paid less than their male counterparts. 

The latest statistics on the subject indicate that the gap has reduced from 16% in 1998 to 9% in 2021. 

This is an average figure and the actual degree of gap may differ from industry to industry and from organisation to organisation. 

There are many reasons for this gap resulting in both financial and non-financial consequences for women employees.

Your task

You are required to write a Research Design describing the planned activities to investigate the causes and consequences of the gender pay gap. 

You may select any organization of your choice.

The research design should consist of:
