Problem Statement:

The problem statement enables the team and stakeholders to understand WHY the team is addressing the problem, WHO is affected by it and the IMPLICATIONS are for the organisation and possibly its customers and suppliers. Emphasise the ‘unsatisfactory’ and ‘difficulties’ elements from a ‘people’ point of view.

Project objective:

Explain the specific objectives of the project. How does it tie in with strategic & tactical plans? What value does this project add to the organization?

Success metrics & key performance indicators

Identify metric and target you are trying to achieve as a result of this project.  For example, overall cost savings of €50K or reduce processing time by 25 percent. What other process performance indicators will be used to indicate project success?

Project Scope & duration:

Area addressed. What in the scope of the project and what is not? Expected start and finish, and duration of project.

Project Stakeholder Analysis:

Who are those who will benefit from the project (customers, suppliers, management, finance, specific job functions), What impact they have and how you will involve or inform them?

G. Project Schedule

Give an overview of the tasks that need to be completed as part of the project and the timeline for each activity. You will need to draw up a schedule and you can choose to do a Gantt chart or bulleted timeline.
