This assignment is about creating a report for a garden. The public garden needs this report to learn about the rules for registering new types of plants. The garden wants to register plants that it has grown in its nursery.

The report is based on research. You have to look into the rules about getting plants growing plants and giving plants to people.

If you started this assignment using a version you can still use that version.. You have to tell your teacher when you give them your work. If you need a version you can ask your teacher or the Student Services for help.

Task 1: Research

You need to do some research about the rules that apply to plants. This includes:

  • Getting plants from sources
  • Growing plants
  • Giving plants to people

You should get information from people who make rules about plants, groups that work with plants and other trustworthy sources. You can also talk to groups that work with plants to get more information.

Research Notebook

You have to keep a notebook where you write down what you find out. You can use any software you like to make this notebook.

  • Your notebook should be easy to understand with headings and tables
  • You should write down everything you find out
  • You should write down the names of any groups you talk to and what you talked about
  • You can add pictures, tables and other things to help explain what you found out

This notebook will be used in Task 2.

Task 2: Report ( 1000 words)

You need to write a report based on what you found out.

Note: The 1000 words do not include the table of contents, headings, pictures, tables and references.

Your report should have:

  1. Table of Contents
    You should make a table of contents that shows what is in your report.

  2. What You Found Out
    You should look at what you found out and talk about what it means for people who grow plants and for nurseries. You should talk about:
    • How plants are sourced
    • How plants are grown
    • How plants are given to people

  3. Registering New Types of Plants
    You should explain how new types of plants are registered. You should also talk about what`s good and bad about the current system.

  4. Naming Plants
    You should explain why it is important to use the names for plants when you are registering them.
