Ways in which Zanzibar island is a cultural crossroad

There are few places in the world where the concept of the crossroad is more useful for understanding how cultural interaction leads to new forms of cultural expression than Zanzibar. Write a paper in which you examine the ways in which this island (and the Swahili Coast more broadly) is a cultural crossroad. Look for particular forms of cultural expression(architecture including information about doors influenced by various cultures) in which these cultural interactions are readily apparent.
