Student will:

Write an assignment that describes and analyses your philosophy of early childhood care and education, describing its basis and identifying at least two key influences on your thinking.

The assignment should discuss the two philosophical influences you have chosen and give a rationale for your choice. Differences and similarities between both philosophies should be considered together with the impact of each philosophy on the culture of teaching and learning in your setting.  Describe, giving examples, links you can make between these philosophical influences on at least two of the 12 principles of Aistear.

Support your answers with reference to reading to link theory and practice which should include reading beyond your own curriculum.
