PU5532 Health Informatics Assignment Help And Solution,
PU5532 Health Informatics - University of West London
PART: Research Question
1) Set out your research question clearly.
Your research question might be about understanding risk factors, clinical care or outcomes. It should be precise, realistic, with time constrains, be population bound, and clear as to whether the study would be aetiology, prediction or experimental.
2) Use the frameworks and tools you have learnt to support your research design
i) Set up a PECO table.
Population What group of people will be of interest in this study? How will they be defined?
Exposure What is the naturally occurring action/event/characteristic/risk factor of interest beingconsidered?
Comparator What alternative will this exposure be compared to?
Outcome What event(s) of interest may happen and will be reported?
ii) Outline 5-10 variables of interest and justify them with respect to the expected relationships (particularly with the outcome variable) and the role you expect them to play within the pathways. Remember to reference or source these justifications.
iii) Include a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) picture to illustrate the relationships you are assuming.
PART 2: Data Governance
1) For each of the following groups describe how your proposed research study could deliver future benefits. Include 3 references to support your case for the public benefit of your research.
Public Group
Patients & Carers
Clinical staff
Health Policy makers (Politicians or people planning health care services)
2) Describe one feature of your project that might cause the public or data custodians concern and why. Briefly explain how you could address this concern.
3) Describe how using a safe haven for data linkage research minimises the risk to data confidentiality. List and briefly describe two features for each of the ‘4 Safes`. Describe briefly how each of the features reduces risk to data confidentiality.
PART 3 Data Specification
1) Using the research question in Part 1 specify each of the data sources you will be using.
2) Describe how you plan to join the data sources, describing any primary or foreign keys and your justification for this join (Remember you can use different joins for different tables).
3) Are any of your variables in Part 1 Q2 or Part 3 Q2 identifiable or potentially identifiable, if yes state the variables and justify why you needed them for your research question and where possible how you could mitigate against them being identifiable.
4) Using the above information, produce a Data Linkage Plan and Specification to illustrate your project using the template below.
