Assignment Description:

Identify two services currently working with vulnerable young people in Ireland to become active participants in their health and well-being. In your answer, ensure the following areas are considered and emersed throughout your report:

•  Identify the history, organisational, community and societal structures, systems, and cultures on social care provision for this sector (broad overview).
• Evaluate gaps in current provision for service users in this sector.
• How do they advocate with them in the management of their wellbeing and communicating their health and/or social care needs, choices, and concerns.
• Critically evaluate the key theoretical perspectives on relevant policy or practice.

Assignment Tasks:

1. Wordcount 2,000-2,500 words.

2. Identify two services currently working with vulnerable young people in Ireland (various services have been referred to in lectures).

3. Give a brief background of each service, the profile of young people they work with, and their aims and objectives.

4. Identify and describe 2 theories (one for each service) which potentially informs and supports the work of practitioners in each service.

5. Explain why each theory does or could inform the work of each service.

6. Compare and contrast both services in relation to the areas addressed thus far in the report. (NB: Subheadings are encouraged given that this is a report style assignment).
